Power Packed Breakfast

A delicious breakfast with everything you need for a great workout!

Power Packed Oatmeal

This is one of my favorite breakfasts; it is really tasty and super healthy. I like to cook more oats than I need and keep them in the fridge every two days.  They can be easily reheated with a tiny bit of water on the stove.  I don't recommend a microwave as it may damage some of the great nutrients in the oats.

This breakfast contains many essential vitamins and minerals and has a healthy balance of carbs, proteins and fats.  I love to have it about one hour before I hit the gym.  Eating oats in the morning can also help curb hunger throughout the day and help you to control cravings and eat less for the rest of the day.

Ingredients:

-1/4cup steel cut oats (uncooked)

-Half a banana

-2 strawberries

-1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

-1/2 cup milk

-small handfull raw spinach

-1 tablespoon organic flax seeds

Instructions:

Cook steel cut oats.  1:2 ration oats to water for 15 minutes.

In a small food processor (I use my magic bullet) grind flax seeds, add protein powder, spinach, and milk.  Blend until smooth liquid.

Slice up banana and strawberries into cooked oats.

Pour protein mix over cereal.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!
